Grammy & Emmy Award-Winning Producer, Songwriter, Executive & Producer

Grammy and Emmy Award-winning producer, songwriter, executive, and professor Swagg R’Celious continues to make an innovative and creative mark on the music industry. The Sony Music Publishing-signed producer/writer has had career-defining opportunities working with artists, writers, and producers such as H.E.R. (executive-produced, co-wrote, and produced her Grammy Award-winning self-titled album and also executive produced her second album, "I Used to Know Her." This album produced singles, “Hard Place” and “Could’ve Been,” which Swagg co-wrote and produced), Kehlani, Snoh Aalegra, The Foo Fighters, Halle Bailey, Teyana Taylor, Wale, Alicia Keys, Brandy, Zhavia Ward, Coko of SWV, Dawn Richard, and many more. Respected across a broad spectrum of music genres beyond hip hop and R&B, R’Celious, whose humble beginnings in the church have traversed cultural boundaries, from writing for Korean pop star Hyo Lee to composing the score for the film “Stick Up Kids.” R’Celious holds a deep passion for music education, particularly in music technology, and has served as a guest lecturer at various high schools, colleges, and universities. With his multi-dimensional cross-genre approach, Swagg is shaping today's music scene and has achieved chart-topping success in hip-hop, gospel, and R&B. Known for his eloquence, the ever-evolving producer also enjoys sharing his experiences and music passion in workshop settings. Swagg's dedication to music education is evident in his role as a Professor at his alma mater, NYU, where he is a member of The Steinhardt School’s Songwriting faculty, developing courses for the songwriting curriculum focusing on Contemporary R&B and African American Music - Its Origins and Influence on Pop Music. His broader vision is to establish a platform that offers equal opportunities for black and brown creatives and showcases their excellence in the music industry. Swagg recently completed his term as a national Trustee for the Recording Academy and has ventured into new ventures, founding a production company, Progressive Musik Group (PMG), and a new record label, Water II Wine. His mission is to collaborate with artists, nurture talent, and help them find their unique voice, embracing innovation and striving to push creative boundaries while offering a supportive environment for creatives to flourish and grow. Currently, Swagg is back in the studio working with H.E.R. on her new album as a producer, writer, A&R, and creative consultant.
